Independent Board review of a major system implementation

The challenge

A major system implementation was under way and the Board needed an independent view: was it on track, was it value for money, and should it continue, change or stop?

What I did

• Interviewed stakeholders across the organisation, the project team and the implementation partner.
• Reviewed the in-progress build and identified the key gaps, risks and delivery issues.
• Wrote a Board paper with findings and a clear recommendation, and presented it to the Board.

The result

The Board made its decision on the future of the implementation with an evidence-based recommendation in hand.
